New England Business Leaders Get a New Perspective on European Economic Opportunities

On March 15, 2016, at Babson College, New England businesses leaders at the Business Credit Intelligence’s annual International SIG Meeting learned more about the turbulent changes taking place within the European Union from special guest speaker, Mr. Jozef Dlugos, of Michalovce, Slovakia. Mr. Dlugos is currently the Managing Director of Meridian Sped, S.R.O., OCEANAIR’s partner agent for Eastern Europe. His presentation covered a political survey of members and nonmembers of the European Union and their position within, economical orientation of respective countries, and transport details referring to each individual country.

Thanks to Jozef’s unique background, attendees mainly comprised of the New England and Connecticut Chapters of the National Association of Credit Management (NACM) listened to a specialized perspective on economic conditions in Europe and the value of trade in emerging markets like Poland. His previous positions include the Commercial Director of a respected company for the American markets, Managing Shareholder of Hirdes Freight, and the Country Manager of C.H.Robinson, both in the Czech Republic. Prior to his work in the trade industry, Mr. Dulgos worked at the Ceskoslovenska Obchodni Bank Prague after he earned a law degree from Charles University in Prague. This was the only bank within Czechoslovakia entitled for foreign/international financial and monetary operations at that time. Since then, Mr. Dulgos is active as attorney at law for one of foreign trade organizations, exporting and importing products of all kind of glass.
