Customs Administration of the Netherlands Announces Service Disruption for Software Upgrade

To accommodate new message formats required by the World Customs Organization (WCO) data model version 3, the Customs Administration of the Netherlands is releasing a new version of the Netherlands’ customs system AGS (Aangiftesysteem) this weekend. As a result of this upgrade, the agency announced a period of downtime for its import and storage systems to perform system updates, beginning on Friday, March 11, at 1:00 P.M. EST. The servers should return to service on Sunday, March 13, at 6:00 P.M. EST. Following these system updates, only messages in new message formats required by the WCO will be accepted and processed.

OCEANAIR is encouraging our clients to plan ahead as the layout for inbound and outbound messages is changing with this software update. During the update, it will not be possible to submit any declarations of Netherlands customs authority. The agency also stated the new software will not allow for buffering messages after the maintenance is complete. OCEANAIR advises using the manual entry only when necessary during the service interruption. Please note, this update will not impact Exports and NCTS, and declarations for these procedures.

If you have any questions about these upcoming delays in the Netherlands, please contact your OCEANAIR representative.
