In 2015, the regulations governing the air shipping of lithium batteries have been updated. The regulations are effective January 1, 2015.
These regulations affect any shippers of Lithium Batteries. Beware of “hidden” batteries imbedded in equipment.
Please note the following link to IATA which provides guidance to the amended regulations. Any shipper of Lithium Batteries must be familiar and trained in these regulations or be in violation of the IATA 2015 Dangerous Goods Regulations and U.S Code of Federal Regulations CFR Title 49.
