Subject: Peak Season Surcharge
Effective Date: August 2023
Dear Valued OCEANAIR Customer,
We have received notification from several carriers announcing Peak Season Surcharges (PSS) on shipments from Asia to North America in mid-August. The PSS will likely range between $400 – $760 per FEU. As space is being limited due to aggressive capacity management strategies, backlog clearance, and ripple effects from the British Columbia strike earlier this month, carriers will likely be able to sustain these rate increases through at least September.
The surcharges will apply to all shipments with:
Origin: Asia, Far East, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka
Destination: United States and Canada
OCEANAIR is mindful of our customers’ interests, and we remain dedicated to providing competitive pricing across the board for ocean services. That’s why we work with multiple carriers on different lanes and closely monitor the market to provide you with the most aggressive pricing and best routings available to meet your needs.
