In 1983, the ownership of OCEANAIR set forth a corporate vision to become the leading Freight Forwarder based in New England. We built our reputation upon educating the business community about international trade and providing innovative solutions for their international transportation needs. Our dedication to educating our clients as well as our commitment to best-in-class customer service may be why many of our clients feel OCEANAIR treats them “as part of our family and not just a customer.” With this foundation in place, OCEANAIR’s founders grew the company from an air export firm to include exceptional services for perishables, pharmaceuticals, and expanded operations with another location in Maine to improve and localize service delivery throughout New England.
This impressive growth also led to the advantageous proximity of our Corporate Headquarters in Revere being only 8 minutes or 4 miles to Logan Airport. The location not only houses most of our stellar team, but the facility also boasts a 30,000 square foot warehouse which is a Certified Cargo Screening Facility (CCSF), Container Freight Station (CFS), and has a bonded area. It is a cargo facility with ramp access, with the capacity for cross-docking and deconsolidation, as well as two cold storage areas to handle Cool Chain from Drop-off to Delivery. Through the strong relationships of our global network, we have the ability to handle some of the most unique shipments.
With these company milestones, OCEANAIR became a global leader in providing Freight Forwarding services and international logistics solutions for New England. However, we were not alone in our achievements because they were intricately related to the solutions we delivered to our clients. Proactively offering solutions and a commitment to industry education has kept us keen on always staying ahead of industry trends and economic changes. For the past several years, this shift is relative to the change of the world’s economy because of globalization. We once had 15 lanes leaving our warehouse to global destinations on five major continents. But our mission, and vision we clear enough to adjust to these significant changes, helping assure the company place as New England’s largest independent Freight Forwarder.
Today, we continue to provide traditional Freight Forwarding Services, but the needs of our clients are much different from 1983, stemming from the advent of e-commerce and the reliance on foreign-sourced products. So, after some analysis, research, and development, we committed to being more than just a Freight Forwarder by adopting the technology to optimize logistics execution. This transition provided our customers with visibility of their business through high-quality data. The combination of advancing our technology and innovation with delivering tailored solutions led to our expansion as a premiere Logistic Service Provider (LSP).
