WAREHOUSE MATERIAL HANDLER

OCEANAIR, Inc. – Andover, MA

 

Position Summary:

Performs general warehouse and distribution duties in a warehouse environment where some elements of dust, dirt and exhaust fumes may be present.

Overview of Responsibilities:

• Loads and unloads material within the warehouse/distribution facility
• Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, or other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks and within the storage facility
• Records all activity and flow information of materials and products in the Synapse® System
• Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Works closely with Operations, Sales, Accounting and the management teams to ensure execution of assigned duties, escalating when needed to provide superior customer service
• Interfaces with external customers, carriers, and providers as well as internal contacts
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with established corporate standards
• Investigates inventory issues and may suggest solutions

 Skills / Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of related experience
• Knowledge of standard practices and procedures within the warehouse and distribution field
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Forklift operator certification or the ability to obtain is required
• A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
