As we approach Chinese New Year, Transpacific rates are steadily rising due to decreasing capacity on aircraft and ocean vessels. Up until now, we have not experienced any major delays, but we are constantly monitoring each sailing rotation’s available volume. Alternatively, Transatlantic (primarily ex-Europe) rates and capacity are holding steady. There seem to be some minor delays with transshipments, as vessels are traveling from the India Subcontinent region via European ports.
Looking beyond CNY, OCEAN carrier contract negotiation season is approaching. Most conversations are already starting to happen to review what 2026 capacity needs are going to look like. We do not expect to see the first BCO agreements finalized until late March/early April.
To receive a refund from U.S. Customs, it is required to have an ACE Portal and ACH (Automated Clearing House) account that are linked no later than February 6. U.S. Customs has issued a mandate stating that all future refunds will only be issued electronically. The ACE Portal also serves as Customs’ access point to data and communications.
