Refunds. While we don’t yet have a tangible method for IEEPA refunds, all importers anticipating a refund from U.S. Customs must have an ACE portal login that also links their ACH bank details. As of February, refunds by paper check have stopped. This process does not impact how an importer chooses to remit their duties and taxes; it is purely for refund purposes. By default, all refunds of duties and taxes are paid to the importer of record. Take this action today.

Air

Cuts in air freight capacity caused by the Middle East conflict and rising fuel costs are disrupting global supply chains. Air freight capacity has dropped by approximately 20% due to grounded flights to and from major Middle East hubs. Additionally, jet fuel prices have surged to the highest level in four years. These factors are tightening cargo capacity, raising transportation costs, and delaying the movement of goods worldwide.

Ground

Large U.S. truckload carriers added enough trucks to the road late last year to slightly boost the Truckload Capacity Index, despite ongoing capacity cuts at many companies amid rising spot rates and volatile demand.

Those trucks, however, were mostly destined for higher-paying dedicated and specialized services, not one-way truckload service.

Quarterly capacity rose sequentially from 72.4% in the third quarter to 73.5% in the fourth quarter, as the collective capacity fielded by the large carriers in the index increased by 1.5%.
